This week… Spring skiing conditions mixed with 100% chance of some of the best music the mountains has seen in months! That’s a better job with the forecast than the meteorologists have been doing this year. The biggest event is definitely the Furthur shows in Broomfield, but you don’t have to leave the mountains to see some unbelievably great music. Here’s a sampling of some of the best events in the upcoming week: Steamboat’s Ghost Ranch Saloon has The Tony Furtado Band (Sat Mar 6) and Trombone Shorty (Sun Mar 7). Breckenridge’s Three20South has Swollen Members (tonight), Whitewater Ramble with Steve Molitz of Particle and Phil Lesh and Friends performing a jamgrass tribute to the Grateful Dead (Wed Mar 3) and Midnite (Sun Mar 7). Agave in Avon has Grayson Capps (Tues Mar 2)...

Colorado is a mecca for music for two reasons. First off, it’s a place where the best national bands like to come  and play to a great crowd and second, the state cultivates some amazing homegrown talent. Tonight, some of that homegrown talent is on display at Three20South in Breckenridge and Ghost Ranch Saloon in Steamboat. At Ghost Ranch, Eight piece funk/jazz/rock band Filthy Children deliver nutritious grooves. Reminiscent of such groove giants as Soulive, Greyboy Allstars, John Scofield, and Deep Banana Blackout, Filthy Children deliver action-packed funk that’s sure to move your booty. And if you’re into reggae, Three20South hosts Dubskin, a 5 piece Roots/Dub Reggae band from Ft. Collins, CO. Sitting in with Dubskin tonight is Cory from Pretty Lights.
