Stockholm Syndrome tour hits Steamboat tonight...

Coming off a snowy night in Vail and a show in Steamboat, Stockholm Syndrome continues the indoor portion of their tour tonight at Boulder’s Fox. The tour also has stops in Denver, Telluride, Aspen and The Springs. Stockholm Syndrome is a “Dream Team” of musicians and includes Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, Jackmormon Jerry Joseph, Eric McFadden (a San Francisco-based guitarist who has worked with Keb Mo’, Les Claypool and George Clinton’s P-Funk All Stars), Danny Louis (an Upstate NY based keyboard virtuoso widely known for his role in Gov’t Mule and Cheap Trick) and drummer Wally Ingram (an L.A.-based drummer who has worked with Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow, Tracy Chapman and David Lindley). All five musicians are playing a handful of Colorado dates and have also just completed a studio album of originals...

Festivals this summer at Rancho Del Rio...

Ranch Del Rio, the sleepy rafting community on the Colorado River just above State Bridge will be hosting at least 2 festivals this summer. Starting off the festival season on Memorial Day Weekend, Campout for a Cause will return to the same great spot where it was held in last year’s innaugeral year. This is one of the best smaller festivals and has a mellow Colorado feel that makes it hard to compete with. Co-headlining the festival are Colorado favorites Bonfire Dub and Elephant Revival. Other bands include Shakedown Street, Frogs Gone Fishin and Laughing Bones. Also, making a comeback and enjoying their new home, Realm of Caring Festival is back for 2010. Bluegrass Sundays Lineup Announced...

Aspen’s Bluegrass Sundays features top bluegrass musicians performing in an ideal Rocky Mountain setting. The open-air concerts are free, but require the purchase of a gondola ticket and take place outside the Sundeck on top of Aspen Mountain. Concerts start at noon and are held on Sundays except for July 4. There is a July 3 show though. Aside from a float parade and a free pass to drink in the streets, there is a free Frogs Gone Fishin’ concert. Afterwards, you can stay in Vail for EOTO at Samana or head to Avon for one of Stereo Assassins’ last shows before several of their members head out on tour with the aforementioned FGF.
