Festivals this summer at Rancho Del Rio

Feb 22, 2010 by

Ranch Del Rio, the sleepy rafting community on the Colorado River just above State Bridge will be hosting at least 2 festivals this summer.

Starting off the festival season on Memorial Day Weekend, Campout for a Cause will return to the same great spot where it was held in last year’s innaugeral year. This is one of the best smaller festivals and has a mellow Colorado feel that makes it hard to compete with. Co-headlining the festival are Colorado favorites Bonfire Dub and Elephant Revival. Other bands include Shakedown Street, Frogs Gone Fishin and Laughing Bones.

Also, making a comeback and enjoying their new home, Realm of Caring Festival is back for 2010. You might remember the Realm Fest from it’s old spot in Newcastle, which was put on last in 2008.

Both festivals support local non-profit The Realm of Caring and Campout for a Cause all supports Central America Foundation. The mission of the Central America Foundation is to provide school and medical supplies, medical training, new or renovated community buildings, and to assist locals with programs supporting their heritage and financial independence. Changing lives and communities one day at a time, CAF aspires to assist those in need in Central America (www.cafoundation.org). The Realm of Caring was founded to assist local school children in the pursuit of music and music education. With an extraordinary amount of musical programs being cut from local school budgets, the Realm of Caring seeks to deliver a musical experience to any child that desires one.

Details are still rolling in for both festivals so check back often for bands for both of Rancho’s 2010 festivals.
