Sure they have expanded and  grown into giant winter theme parks, but just ask  a local that has been there for more than twenty years,  and you might uncover some- of the something that has been stripped away by this modern day gold mining. More often than not money is to blame, ultimately moving into each and every one of these high country towns (now chic villages), transforming or changing something that was perfectly good and memorable, to those that lived there the previous years.
